Introducing Xian: Green Snuff from China

The Xian range is now in stock. Five Chinese-made green snuffs, each with its own scent layer, available in 10g pouches at £7.03.

Xian is a true green snuff. Rather than the long, dark fermentation that turns most leaf brown and sweet, the leaf is cured to keep its natural green colour, often using candela leaf, which is flash-cured to lock in the chlorophyll of the living plant. The powder is grassy and herbal, with the scenting reading cleanly on top. For the longer story, see our guide to green snuff.

The five Xian snuffs

• Xian Jasmine — jasmine over the green base, with a milk note and a touch of light menthol. Reads like a delicate floral tea.
• Xian Osmanthus — osmanthus blossom with menthol and a milk note. Soft, floral, on the lower end for nicotine.
• Xian Breeze on Willow — lemon opening into a floral character, with cooling menthol underneath.
• Xian Loess Plateau — baking bread, cocoa and a sweet vanilla finish. The only menthol-free blend in the range.
• Xian Nether Tempest — menthol opens, then berry sweetness, sour cream and tropical fruit, into vanilla cream chocolate, with blueberry as a final note.
