Fribourg & Treyer - French Carotte
Fribourg & Treyer - French Carotte
Fribourg & Treyer French Carotte has a fine grind with medium moisture and low nicotine. The tasting notes include almond, violet, sweet, and natural tobacco, with the carrot scent that gives this snuff its name. The blend uses spiced elements and violet notes, with tobacco as the base.
The texture is soft and fluffy, and the snuff is easy to take without burn. The scent includes floral and musky sandalwood notes. The violet and spice notes are balanced with subtle sweetness, while the tobacco remains understated.

So I bought 100g as the price was great, the brand is excellent. I am a medium to full nicotine hit with a lot of flavor. This hit the low nicotine mark, but reminds me more of Kendal brown plain, without the nicotine content. I do not pick any of the scent that’s mentioned, like not a single note that’s mentioned. I don’t think it is me, as I use different snuff from mild in the morning to full bodied during the wee hours. I still like this, but wish I did not get 100g as it’s very plain, not much to say brilliant or, to description. It’s nice, but figure a light roast with a Kendal type flavor, and lower nicotine. It’s common yet still enjoyable. Maybe a lower nose hit, and plain, but still does the trick for a low enjoyable snuff.
This is actually one of the very first snuffs I tried about 25yrs ago and I loved it then and love it now. I can't find a fault in this snuff but if the scent lasted just a bit longer would be great. All F&T snuffs are of the highest quality, you get what you pay for with the brand.
Carottes glacées au miel et aux épices lyonnaise is a classic French plat d’accompagnement traditionally served with a variety of grilled or braised meats. The sweetness of the carrots balances the umami of the meat. Sweet and floral, French Carotte brings the same balance to tobacco. Being both of medium ground and medium moisture, it is quite easy to take. This khaki brown snuff is a wonderful side dish best enjoyed as a part of a whole. Its low nicotine content prevents it from stealing the show. Delicious in accompaniment to a slowly savoured meal, I particularly enjoy it with Sunday Roast.
Fine, medium snuff. I find that it keeps moving up my list of favourites. It is easy to take without fear of burn or hitting the throat. The first scent is a nice musky sandalwood followed by a floral bouquet. I don't find it to be perfumy at all, its not overpowering. Lasts a long time.
Nice, aromatic, pretty mellow, not too heady. This is a good one to try. My contention is that you should give this a whirl, if nothing else you will know if you like it or not, by doing so you just might have a better feel for the British snuffs. Some of these F&T's are way too heady for me- but this has the balance and reserve to make it really quite nice! Imo this is much better than the Wilson's of Sharrow French Carrote- which I just can't do. If you can't handle the Bordeaux or the Macouba (like me), you might still like this.
