This snuff is easy for most people to enjoy, including beginners. It has a strong fruit note that's sweet but not as jammy as APLINA. MC's Sunblast stands out from the O&G version, giving a refreshing menthol hit that's milder than O&G.
Without eucalyptus and camphor, a gentle sweet apricot note comes through quickly. The apricot scent is light and pleasant. As the menthol fades, the apricot flavour becomes stronger, blending with a hint of wheat and then a mild tobacco scent. The description of "menthol followed by apricot" fits well, since menthol is the main note at first, then a lightly sweet apricot takes over. The apricot doesn't overpower the tobacco, so both flavours come through. The taste reminds me of honey wheat bread, lightly toasted and topped with apricot mint jam, like my grandma used to make.
The grind is fine, but not overly dusty like some Indian snuffs, and it's consistent with other McChrystal's products — fine, but still easy to pinch and hold in the nose, though using the boxcar method might be a bit tricky. The moisture is similar to other McChrystal's products, though there's a little clumping in the tin; compared to the Original & Genuine, this one is slightly more moist. Colour is bright brown, with no specks present outside of the base flour. The menthol helps reduce nasal irritation and keeps the fruit flavour lasting longer, and the sweet fruit and cool menthol make this a good all-day snuff with little nasal drip. The nicotine level is moderate — the menthol and sweet apricot flavours make it easy to underestimate, so you might take more than you mean to if you're not paying attention. The nicotine isn't especially strong, but the sweet flavour can tempt you to use more, which might cause headaches.
