Fribourg & Treyer - Macouba
Fribourg & Treyer - Macouba
Fribourg & Treyer Macouba has a fine grind with medium moisture and light nicotine strength. The scent is floral, led by rose and geranium, with sandalwood and woody notes beneath. Vanilla and sweet notes round out the blend, and a musk undertone sits under the rose.
The tobacco base uses Virginia and Oriental leaf, but the floral scenting is the primary characteristic and this is not a tobacco-forward snuff.

Rose forward snuff but not overwelming as princess special well balanced floral snuff
Smell good and fresh in the nose!
I poured a mountain out the first time size of my thumb nail . Hate and love these tins but they kick my ass sometimes but the burn is so nice .
Macouba is a village on the northern tip of Martinique where a mythical tobacco called Maccaboy is reputed to grow. William Makepeace Thackeray lauded it in his novels. Low in nicotine and of average moisture, this medium ground khaki-red snuff has a slight burn, right after intake. The natural aroma of rose in the tobacco made Maccaboy world famous. F&T’s version mixes-in the essences of rose, sandalwood and, to my nose, key lime. It is sweet and its combination of flavours make it taste like a Turkish Delight.
Geranium top notes, fading quickly to rose and musk, then a steady lingering sandalwood with the most amazing coumarin finish! Exceedingly rare to find anything with the fresly cut hay aroma of coumarin, this is a transportive snuff. Slightly moist, very fine, silky, and with a rather generous nicotine content, this is by far the greatest snuff I have ever had the pleasure of inhaling. Yes, inhaling. One must be carefuly not to over sniff this, even though it is moist, the fine milling can result in a bit hitting the lungs if you are not careful. Buy this in large quantity.
