McChrystal's Sturco has a medium-fine grind with slightly moist texture and a mid to light brown colour. The blend centres on menthol and peppermint notes, with eucalyptus and camphor as secondary elements. Natural tobacco and earthy notes form the base.

Nicotine strength is medium to strong. The menthol note is the strongest component, with the peppermint adding a minty character. The eucalyptus and camphor are more restrained in the overall profile.

"Heroic" is what was described to me, though I find this on par with JIP!, which is a kick above Original and Geninuen by McChrystal's as well. The nicotine content provides more than enough energy for late-night work/gaming sessions or a much-needed afternoon pick-me-up. The moisture content is more pronounced in my tin, and there are plenty of clumps. From the McChrystals' line, this has been the most moist yet. This medium-fine grind, ample moisture, and subtle fluffiness make this snuff easy to pinch. The tobacco colour is tan to light brown.

This snuff is strong; it delivers a robust cooling sensation and a good deal of nicotine, hidden by the medicated nature of the cooling agents. Consider using a gentler sniff, as the Vitamin N. burn can peak through the cooling menthol. Snuffing too hard can cause discomfort with how the cooling agents impact the sinuses, which can be overwhelming.

Sturco, JIP!, and Original and Genuine create the holy trinity of TINNED (sorry, Red Bull fans) mentholated snuffs. These three vary in their ratios of mint, eucalyptus, menthol, and camphor. For Sturco, the menthol and clean mint come through first. The eucalyptus and camphor-like notes are toned down and bring up the rear once the mint needs the cavalry. Sturco reminds me of my Grandfather, USMC Capt. Carlos Martinez, in that this is calm and collected, strong in its presence, and doesn't need to assault the nose, but do not disrespect him, or you can take a wallop to the nose. This snuff is orderly in managing its ratio of cooling camphor and eucalyptus. The cooling sensation is durable and long-lasting. Compared to the O&G, the tobacco is more subtle towards the end.

If you want to bust into the 'holy trinity', start with O&G, then head over here for a new ratio and healthy upgrade on the Vitamin N. After finishing off the trifecta with JIP!. Struco is strong stuff. Respect him, and you can settle into a very fine product that strikes a fine balance between cooling menthol and awakening vitamin N.
