Oiling a snuff for an easier pinch
From volunge on the Snuffhouse forum, 2021
A little fat or oil makes a fine, dry snuff much easier to take, especially a very dry white snuff.

Notes
You'll notice the change with as little as 5%. German schmalzlers run to about 16%, which is roughly 2 ml of oil in 10 g of snuff. No dropper? Dip a straw 5 to 10 mm into the oil, cover the top with your finger, lift it out and let the oil go a drop at a time by easing your finger off. The original post advises against taking unoiled white snuffs regularly, because they are dry and strongly alkaline and can irritate the airways. Use only pharmacy-grade paraffin oil, never a scented one such as baby oil.
